PTSD An Osteopathic Perspective – Olixn Adams D.O.

CME: Anticipated for 20 hours Category 1A as well as FM and OMM/NMM Specialty Credits.

Osteopathy can be of tremendous service to those suffering from PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). From an osteopathic perspective PTSD disrupts the intricate balance between mind, body, soul, the senses, and perception. This balance is the foundation of health and if not restored can lead to a myriad of health problems. Through the principles of wholeness and the suspensory mechanism of the Tide the course will explore 4 expressions of ignition common in PTSD. Additionally, we will evaluate seams, gross and subtle digestion in relation to perception, the function of the seven basic tissues, fluid, and potency in the treatment of PTSD.

Prerequisite: Phase VII, or advanced studies of osteopathy in the cranial field, or permission of instructor.
