About the BioBasics Program

The BioBasics program has been designed to offer an educational experience based on foundational principles of Osteopathy to medical students, residents and physicians at reasonable cost. Even those in practice for many years have found this course to be enlightening and transformational for their practice.

Biodynamic Cranial Osteopathy is one of the deepest and most subtle osteopathic modalities. Firmly based on the principles taught by Dr.s Still and Sutherland, the Biodynamic approach to osteopathy, as taught by Dr. James Jealous, seeks to further explore the vast potential for the human body to heal itself.

The intent for this BioBasics course is to present a dynamic living curriculum which reflects the core principles of Biodynamic Cranial Osteopathy.

The Biodynamic approach to Osteopathy is explored through both lecture and lab formats. The course is designed with a gentle tempo which allows time for rest, reflection and recreation. We meet in a beautiful natural setting by a lake in Central Maine where we can swim, kayak, and paddle board during the day and share music and dance together in the evenings.

We are thrilled to have you become part of our Biodynamic community which is devoted to keeping Traditional Osteopathy alive. Please join us as we explore together in devotion and service to this great heritage.

Our faculty is comprised of DO s and MD s from all over the world. This group of physicians volunteers their time for the course and have functioned as a community devoted to the teaching of Osteopathy in our schools, hospitals, offices and national organizations for many years.

This course provides a unique opportunity for mentoring with a teacher to participant ratio at or near 1:2. All faculty have engaged in the general practice of Osteopathy and are fully trained in Biodynamics. It is our intent that you will have the opportunity, not only to acquire new awareness and skills, but also to experience the love and peace that are at the heart of Dr Still’s science of healing.
