About Veera Motashaw D.O.

Veera Motashaw, DO, practices traditional osteopathic medicine as a hospice and palliative medicine specialist. She has experience treating over 5,000 terminally ill and dying patients in several settings. Her study of Traditional Osteopathy began in 2009 with Dr. Christina Steele and with Dr. James Jealous in 2010. In the spring of 2020, Veera began working on a course with Jim to articulate what guides her in treating terminally ill and dying patients. It is now time to share our thoughts with our community.

Veera serves as the Director of Outpatient University Palliative Care at the Cancer Institute at the University of Tennessee and as faculty of the hospice and palliative medicine fellowship in Knoxville, TN. Since 2015, Veera lectures and teaches as a part of the BioBasics faculty and co-teaches in courses and study groups with Dr. John Coppinger. She additionally serves on the Osteopathic Education Service of the AAO in order to educate colleagues and students at various events.
