About Kristin I Thom D.O.

Dr. Thom has a private Osteopathic Manual Medicine specialty practice in the Bay Area of California with two locations: Santa Cruz and Vallejo, where she is also an Assistant Professor in the OMM department at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

She has a varied and rewarding background, which continues to inform her current OMM practice. Following graduation from family medicine residency in 2002, she practiced full-scope family medicine in the rural towns of Blue Hill and Bucksport, Maine. She practiced in outpatient, inpatient, obstetrics, emergency department, nursing home, and home settings. In 2011, she turned her attention to academics, taking a faculty position at Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Family Medicine and OMM Plus One Residency Programs in Bangor, Maine. She transitioned to a 100% OMM practice in 2020.

Special interests: pregnancy, postpartum, pelvic floor, newborns, end-of-life, trauma, mood and sleep. Dr. Thom has extensive experience with acute and chronic pain, headaches, sciatica, carpal tunnel, as well as sinus and respiratory conditions and more.

Dr. Thom has trained under Dr. James Jealous, completing Biodynamics Phases I – IX and Pediatrics I – III, as well as other courses he offered. She has also trained under Dr. Donald Hankinson, Dr. Steve Kisiel, and other biodynamics faculty.
