About Heather A. Sharkey D.O.

Dr. Heather Sharkey began her medical career practicing on her sister with a Fisher Price medical bag.  She graduated from Rutgers College with a degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and attended medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM).  She completed her Family Medicine and NMM/OMM plus one residencies at Eastern Maine Medical Center (EMMC, now Northern Light) in Bangor. Dr. Sharkey has been teaching Osteopathic Clinical Skills at UNECOM since 2012. She is board certified in Family Medicine and NMM/OMM.  She studied Biodynamics/Traditional Osteopathy with Dr. Jealous in 2008-2020 and is now learning with Greg Yesensky and Donald Hankinson. She is on faculty for Biobasics New Hampshire classes. Her hobbies include reading, hiking, swimming, cooking, listening to the Portland Symphony Orchestra, watching plays, enjoying the natural world, and spending time with friends and family.
