Professional / Education Highlights
Dr. Cohen obtained his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001, following the completion of his bachelor’s degree in biology at Indiana University. He subsequently undertook a one-year rotating Internship with focus on Internal Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Following this internship, he advanced his education at New York University School of Medicine, specializing in Neurology, where he later held the position of Chief Resident. Upon completing his residency in Neurology at NYU, Dr. Cohen was awarded a fellowship in Neurophysiology, focusing on Epilepsy, also at NYU.
He is Board Certified in both Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Additionally, Dr. Cohen has served as an adjunct professor at Rutgers University in New Jersey for more than a decade.
Dr. Cohen has been engaged in the practice of integrating Neurology and Biodynamic Osteopathy at Summit Health in New Jersey for nearly two decades, from 2006 to 2023, following his training. During portions of that time, he served as head of the Neurology section. He is presently based in Toronto, Canada, where he serves as the Director of a Headache Center.
Dr. Cohen developed a passion for Osteopathy during his inaugural year of medical school in 2001. Throughout that year, he had the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Jealous. This professional relationship persisted over the years, during which Dr. Cohen has engaged in extensive training with Dr. Jealous and various other teachers. Additionally, Dr. Cohen has co-directed the BioBasics program for eight years. Dr. Cohen is additionally a member of the Berkshire Osteopathic Study Group. He is also a member of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy, American Academy of Neurology, a member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the American Headache Society.
Dr. Cohen has been instructing his distinctive courses that integrate Osteopathy and Neuroscience for the past decade. His passion for Biodynamics and Neurology is evident in his presentations and original laboratory sessions, which investigate and examine the profound legacy and significance of the essence of Osteopathy. He is presently instructing a series of courses titled The Brain in Toronto and at a charming, secluded cottage. These courses are exclusively available to Osteopaths who have completed training in Phases I-III.
